50 Weeks Old!! 02/20/11-02/26/11

Ava's first trip to Florida. We left home at 4am for the airport. Ava slept the whole trip.

We're on the shuttle to the airport!!

Waiting for our flight.....luckily we were one of the first people on the plane since we were traveling with a baby. 

Ava's first airplane ride!! Ava was a good girl on the flight. She looked out the window during take off, played for awhile, and then slept the rest of the trip. She slept through the landing!!

It was 80 and sunny when we landed in Florida!! Ava was so happy to see her Grammy and Grandpappy Snyder. Pop Pop didn't know we were coming to visit. Ava walked in a side entrance to his house, and Pop Pop was so surprised to see Ava standing in his kitchen!!

Our first full day in Florida (Monday) we got some strawberry shortcake. Yum Yum

Waiting in line for stawberry shortcake....this was the longest line for strawberry shortcake that Mommy and Daddy has ever seen. Ava is wondering if the strawberry shortcake is really that good!!

Beach time!!!! We went to Siesta Key near Sarasota. It was in the 80s with the water chilly. Ava didn't mind the water at all. Mommy dipped her in the water to her chest and no problems. But, she screamed and cried when she touched sand. She hates sand!!

Instead of a snowman, we made a sandman :)

 

 We decided to give Ava a break from the beach and her hatred for sand and go to a state park called Homasassa Springs to see the animals. Ava's first boat ride ever!! We rode about 20 minutes from the visitor center to the zoo. Ava loved the ride and looked around the whole time.

This was Ava's first time to a zoo, and she loved all the animals. She'd point and laugh. We saw lots of animals including alligators, pelicans, storks, wolves, hippo, manatees, snakes, turtles, cougar, eagles but Ava's favorite were the flamingos.

We thought we'd give the beach another try and went to Clearwater. Again, Ava didn't mind the water at all but hated the sand!! :(

We had a birthday party for Ava while in Florida. We started off the party by going out to eat.

And back to the house for cake and gifts.

Ava did not like the icing on her fingers. She touched the icing and then wanted her hands wiped off. She did smash some of it in her mouth. 

Look at all of her gifts. Ava was a good girl this week. We had lots of fun and hated to come home. On the flight home, she looked out the window for take off, slept most of the trip, and then looked at the window for landing.
